Fortnight’s closure for library

Spalding Library is set to close for two weeks for essential maintenance.

The Victoria Street amenity will be closed from January 13 to upgrade the old fire alarm system and replace the front doors.

More modern computers and printing equipment will also be installed.

The library will close at 1pm on Saturday, January 11 and reopen again at 9am on Monday, January 27.

Sharman Morriss, library manager at Spalding Library said: “Closing the library is never an easy decision but due to the disruption this essential work will cause it just cannot be avoided.

“While the library is closed for the alarm and door work we will also be upgrading our public computer and printing facilities so that this does not need to be done when the library is open and further disrupt our customers.

“We are making sure that no items out on loan are due back during the closure and look forward to welcoming our customers back on Monday, January 27.”
