Angry Pinchbeck United player/boss Ian Dunn admits that he was forced to report referee Miroslav Belik to the footballing authorities after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against high-flying Leicester Nirvana.
Dunn claims that Belik missed a clear foul before Deen Master’s 66th-minute winner at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, failed to send off Sam Gent for pushing Niall Parsons in the face and also made a host of basic errors.
Gent also went unpunished for verbally abusing Dunn’s six-year-old son Rupert , who was acting as ball boy.
The poor refereeing show overshadowed what was a much-improved showing from the 19th-placed Knights, who had taken the lead when Patrik Kacirek (9) finished off a great pass from the returning Ollie Maltby.
However, Shaq Master’s cross from the right was finished off by Craig Maisiri for a 17th-minute leveller before Deen Master netted the winner following a clear foul of Dan Worthington.
Dunn, who felt his side deserved at least a point, didn’t mince his words when it came to the performance of the referee.
“I absolutely hate complaining about referees,” said the veteran striker
“But, on the day, he was absolutely awful.
“He made a host of bizarre decisions, including one that cost us the game. It’s that simple.
“I can give you endless examples. He failed to stop the game for two head injuries, when our keeper was down and needing treatment, failed to sent off Gent for pushing Niall in the face – and then booked the two players who tried to break up the incident instead, which summed his performance up.
“Their second goal was the clearest foul you’ll ever see, too. I shook the referee’s hand after the game and told him that I thought he’d cost us the game.
“It’s a real shame, as I was proud of the lads on Saturday.
“It’s fair to say that we deserved a draw, the lads worked incredibly hard and were fully committed from start to finish.
“I’m proud of them all despite the result and we can build on this.”
