Saturday football: Tulips bag Sheffield point, Knights beaten again, Tigers frustrated

Spalding United made it three games unbeaten on Saturday thanks to a goalless draw with Sheffield FC, while Pinchbeck United went down 3-1 at Loughborough University and Holbeach United’s game at Oadby Town was abandoned.

Starting with the Tulips, they battled out a 0-0 with high-flighing Sheffield FC at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field to extend their solid run of results in BetVictor NPL South Easton Division.

Pinchbeck, meanwhile, remain in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division’s bottom two after a 3-1 loss at Loughborough.

A late consolation from Ty Burton was all they had to shout about.

Meanwhile, Nick Jackson’s goal had Holbeach 1-0 up at Oadby Town before the match was abandoned early in the second half due to a floodlight failure.

More to follow.
