Super Sue seals latest medal title at Spalding

Sue Watson got her hands on Spalding Golf Club’s July Medal after getting the better of 35 other members of the ladies’ section.

Her winning score of nett 70, which secured a handicap reduction of 1.8 to ensure she is now playing off 19, was two better than anybody else could manage.

Second place went to Bev Harpham, whose 72 earned a handicap cut of 0.8 to 24, with Carol Thomas (73) third.

  • Spalding ladies’ A team earned a 3-1 win over Sleaford at the Surfleet course amid difficult conditions that included thunder and lightning.

Pat West and Elaine Hancock won 6&4, Angela Roper and Elizabeth Holbrook lost 1 down, Lesley Williams and Ruth Atkins won 2&1 and Avril Norton and Paula Brown won 4&3.
