Teenage Gosberton talent Abbi Pulling is celebrating again after here impressive season culminated with fresh awards and some high praise.
In 2018, the hi-octane youngster once again dominated the Super One British Championship – taking the title with 22 top-three finishes and podiums in all seven of the grand finals.
Pulling became the first junior karter to win back-to-back Super One British Championships and also retained the Junior TKM Festival Trophy.
She also made her car racing debut in 2018, taking part in three rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship.
The British Women Racing Drivers’ Club announced the winners of their GoldStar Awards for the season at Autosport International on Saturday.
The club were invited to host the presentation on the Motorsport UK stand and the awards were presented by BWRDC president Lorina McLaughlin.
These awards highlight the talent within the BWRDC and are judged by a panel of industry professionals.
After the BWRDC GoldStar Awards, Pulling moved on to receive her trophy from the Super One British Championship and the Downforce Kart Racer of the Year.
Lorraine Gathercole, chair of the BWRDC, said: “Abbi has such a bright future ahead of her.
“She has already proven at such a young age that she can compete and beat all the competition, being the only person to ever win back-to-back Super One British Championships.
“I look forward to seeing her name on the biggest trophies this industry has to offer and with the right support and sponsorship I have absolutely no doubt she will be a star.
“I know she is currently looking for local companies to come forward and help her move up to the next level of motorsport.
“We all too often look at the negative in young people and society as a whole – now we all have the opportunity to make a difference and help a positive, hard-working, skilled young lady – you have one right here.”
