Dunn: Consistency is now the key for Pinchbeck United

Ian Dunn is backing his talented Pinchbeck United side to continue their improvement as they seek to add consistency to their game.

The Knights have taken four points from their last two league games after a tricky period saw them lose three Future Lions UCL Premier Division games on the spin.

That leaves them in fifth place in the table ahead of Saturday’s home clash with 17th-placed Kirby Muxloe – and player/boss Dunn expects his side to collect three more points at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field (3pm).

He said: “I’ll be honest, I expect us to win on Saturday. If you’ve got aspirations to finish high in the table, you’ve got to be beating the teams at the bottom.

“That’s not disrespectful, it’s just how it is at any level of football.

“If you look at our squad now, we’ve got a very strong side. It’s all about giving the lads time to gel as a team now.

“We need to add consistency to our game. Over the past month or so we’ve had lots of injuries and suspensions, while we’ve also been adding to the squad.

“That is easing now and we’re slowly getting key players back.

“We’re also seeing the best of the likes of Lee Beeson, which will make a massive difference for us moving forward.

“It wouldn’t surprise me now if we start putting a bit of a run together.”

Pinchbeck, who lost 2-0 at Holbeach United in the last eight of the Lincs FA Senior Trophy on Wednesday night, hope to have a full squad to pick from with Jack Smith available again.
