Finals night haul caps Green Dragon’s superb season in Pinchbeck League

Finals night in the Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League proved a fruitful one for Green Dragon.

Already crowned champions of Division B, the Swineshead team’s captain Scott Williams, then went on to take a hoard of individual titles.

He started the evening with a singles semi-final 2-1 win over Lincoln Arms A’s Nick Moyses and then went on to capture the Captain’s cup beating Drayman’s Arms A’s Tony Clark.

Next was the singles final against New Saracens Head’s Chris Fidler. He came out victorious 3-1 in a fantastic final with 14 recorded 100 plus scores and a 13-dart leg from Williams.

His final game of the evening was The Mark Tansley Memorial Trophy.

Williams played current Winter League singles champion Colin Healands (Riverside C) and continued his run of fine form – winning 3-0 and scoring two 180s on the way.

WHAT A NIGHT: Landlord’s Trophy winner Sean Trafford (Green Dragon).

To add to the Dragons’ cup tally, landlord Sean Trafford also defeated Dick Morgan (Consti Club) 2-1 in the Landlords/Landladies Cup.

Elsewhere, the two team cup finals of the night saw Lincoln Arms D beating Riverside C 5-2 in the Ward Trophy and top tier champions New Saracen’s Head defeating Drayman’s Arms A 6-1 in the Knockout Cup.

There were 180 maximums from Kev Baker and Chris Fidler in the latter, with both games being a lot closer than the scores reflect.

The Ladies’ Cup final between Tina Gent (Lincoln Arms D) and Amy Porter (Pinchbeck FC A). resulted in a straight legs win for the latter in a close encounter.

Meanwhile, the Mixed Pairs final was a comfortable 2-0 win for Casey Hill and Chris Fidler (New Saracens Head) over Karlene Leonard and Emlyn Rowe (Riverside A).

One of the highlights of the night was the league Pairs final between Nick Moyses and Andy Bingham (Lincoln Arms A) against Mark Horspool and Chris Fidler (New Saracens Head C).

Going the full distance with numerous high scores and a 180 by Fidler, it was the New Saracen’s Head just edging it in the final leg to take the trophy 3-2.
