A vital service which gives carers a break from their role has received a £670 boost.
The Masonic Ladies Night, organised by The Hundred of Elloe Masonic Lodge, raised the money from a raffle arranged by almoner Roy Mead.
Heather Allan, as the wife of the Worshipful Master of the lodge, chose the charity – The Carers Sitter Service.
The charity provides volunteer sitters to allow carers a break from their role, whether it be to go shopping or meet friends for a coffee.
Mrs Allan said the service helps her mother, Alethea Barnsdale, and frees-up time for her to meet her sister who shares the caring role with her.
“We are so grateful to the service,” she said.
Sitters spend time with those needing the service and meet their needs in the same way as a family member.
The service is based in Bourne and volunteers are always welcome. Contact Marjorie Boxhall-Hunt on 01778 420257.
