Elderly man dies more than a week after accident

A man in his 80s has died more than a week after being hit by a car in Long Sutton.

Lincolnshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident, in which a man and a woman in their 80s were struck by a car on the morning of Friday, September 28.

The collision took place near the junction of West Street and The Chase at around 9.20am.

After the incident, the pedestrians were taken to hospital.

A police statement released on Monday said: “Whilst their condition at the time did not appear life- threatening, the man has sadly since passed away as a result of his injuries.”

The statement continues: “Officers would also like to speak to anyone who saw the couple walking in the area prior to the collision.

“If you have any information that could assist this  investigation, please call 101 with incident reference  number 89 of the 28th of September.”
