Can you help Holbeach remember the fallen?

Volunteers will ensure Holbeach’s Remembrance Sunday parade will take place as usual this year, but organisers the Royal British Legion (RBL) are after more help.

Following the change of procedure that came into force last year, police are no longer able to enforce road closures for the parade.

Several branch members have undergone official training in how to put barriers up and ensure drivers observe them during the short time these need to be in place.

With four weeks to go until Sunday, November 11, they would like to hear from others who may be able to help them set up and manage the essential road closure barriers on the day.

“We will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum while making sure that the parade and people watching it are kept safe,” said the branch’s events coordinator, Roger Green. “But we have permission to close some roads, and we need volunteers to act as marshals to ensure the closures are done properly.”
