Bishop launches new syllabus at Crowland school

Pupils and staff at a South Holland school welcomed a very special visitor through the gates.

The Bishop of Lincoln, the Rt Rev Christopher Lowsen visited South View School, Crowland, to launch a new syllabus.

He was joined by his Chaplain, the Rev Jayson Rhodes and the Rev Charles Brown, of Crowland and the children were keen to meet their guests.

The Bishop was last at the school in December 2017 and pupils were keen to show him their progress.

Six students guided the visitors to each class with the school’s RE co-ordinator Hannah Brunt.

He also took part in a podcast from the school to mark the occasion.

“It was a real honour to show them around the school. The preparation for the launch of the new syllabus for RE has been a work in progress over the last year. To be able to show the Bishop all the work we have done and the successes we have already had was a moment of great pride,” said Miss Brunt.

The school is widening pupils’ experiences of learning about other cultures and religions.

Bishop Christopher also visited the school’s creative arts block to look at work created in-school and by a local art group.
