Dynamo hit back twice to deny Spalding United first league win of season

Loughborough Dynamo 2
Spalding United 2

Spalding United were twice pegged back at Loughborough Dynamo on Tuesday night as their wait for a first win of the Evo-Stik League East Division season continued.

After a goalless first half, Jordan Lemon netted the opener on 49 minutes – only for the hosts to peg them back five minutes later.

However, Spalding – who were under the caretaker charge of Matt Easton – went back into the lead when Lemon turned provider for Ben Davison to notch two minutes later.

But, just when the Tulips thought that an elusive victory was within their grasp, Dynamo hit back once again to make it 2-2.

It could have been worse for managerless Spalding, but for a super late save from Michael Duggan.

In the end, they held on to secure a fourth draw from five league games so far this season.

Next up for the Tulips is a home date with Pickering Town on Saturday (3pm).

Pickering are second-from-bottom in the table on the same amount of points as the Tulips.

Spalding also host Belper Town in the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Tulips: Duggan, Floyd, Hugo, Humble, Miller, Fixter (Zuerner), Lemon, Brooks, White (Siddons), Davison (King), Neil. Not used: Lockie, Chipamaunga.

Attendance: 83.
