Cadets meet high flyer

Air Cadets from Spalding had the privilege of meeting the top person in the organisation at the weekend.

Seven members of the 1406 (Spalding) Squadron of the RAF Air Cadets were at RAF Cosford on Sunday for the airfield’s annual air Show.

It was a particularly poignant event this year marking the 100th anniversary of the RAF.

Among the attendees was the leader of the Air Cadet corps, Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty CBE.

She was happy to talk with the Spalding cadets at the event.

A spokesman for the squadron, said: “A great day was had by all.”

The previous day the cadets had also been at Fenland Airfield’s Aerobatics event.
