Make May purple for strokes

The Lincolnshire leg of the Stroke Association launched its annual Make May Purple strokes awareness month with a blood pressure event at Long Sutton Library.

A spokesman said the team checked the blood pressure of 17 visitors and gave out stroke prevention information.

The event was supported by library staff, Stroke Association staff and the Lincolnshire team and volunteers.

Every year the association urges people to start wearing purple and have fun with it to raise awareness.

Sponsorship and awareness ideas are available on the group’s website www.stroke.org.uk

You can also get purple ideas by searching the hashtag #MakeMayPurple and then contributing your own pictures and ideas to the cause.

Money raised helps stroke survivors get their lives back on track.
