Golf round-up: Spalding stun champions Sleaford to keep unbeaten start going

A sensational showing saw Spalding 1st beat defending South Lincolnshire League Division One champions Sleaford 1st 4-2 on their own patch on Saturday.

The victory ensures that Spalding have two wins from as many games so far this season – and taking the scalp of last year’s winners will give the team confidence moving forward.

Karen Gillett toasted two wonderful wins in Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s ladies’ section last week.

She took top spot in the April Medal, before also topping the leaderboard at the Par Competition.

Steve Coe topped the leaderboard as Gedney Hill Golf Club held their 29th Anniversary Open Competition.

His score of 48 points was seven points better than James Busveids (41pts) in second, with Chris Blakey (40pts) completing the top three.

D Martin pipped Nicky Weller (both 36pts) on countback to finish top of the away player standings, with Gavin English (34pts) third.
