Letters – It’s a matter of priorities

I have just watched a news item about potholes and the terrible state of the national road network in general.

North, south, east, west – the story is the same neglect, neglect, neglect and the reasons are the same austerity, lack of money, tight budgets and an estimated repair bill of £9 billion is totally out of the question.

The grotesque Victorian edifice on the banks of the River Thames known as the Houses of Parliament is in need of repair, estimated cost £8-9 billion – no problem write a cheque and let’s get it fixed.

You see, it’s all a matter of priorities.

A decent national road network or the comfort of 650 here today gone tomorrow politicians.

Was the choice ever in doubt?
