South Holland Centre’s Easter fun schedule

Easter holidays are here and the South Holland Centre has a packed schedule of entertainment across the whole two weeks.

Entertainment on offer includes films and a show.

First up is Early Man, starting today (March 28) and running until April 5.

Early Man is the latest film from Bristol-based studio Aardman Animations, best known for their lovable creations, Wallace and Gromit.

Featuring the voices of Imelda Staunton, Hugh Grant and Tom Hiddleston, Early Man takes the action way back to the Stone Age for the prehistoric adventures of plucky cave man Dug.

The 11am screening on Tuesday, April 3, is a relaxed screening, suitable for viewers on the autistic spectrum, adults with babies or anyone else who would prefer a lower sound level and a low level of light left on during the film.

From Friday, April 6, Peter Rabbit hops onto the big screen for a week.

The new cinematic adventure for the Beatrix Potter’s beloved bunny is a feistier affair than usual, with James Cordon voicing the titual long-eared star, alongside Margot Robbie (Flopsy) and Daisy Ridley (Cotton-tail).

The Saturday, April 7 showing is a relaxed screening.

Now, a question: do dogs do ballet? Find out in the fun theatre show Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, produced by Little Blue Monster Productions.

The show tells the story of Biff, a dog who doesn’t fit in with his peers. While they enjoy drinking out of toilets and weeing up lampposts, Biff is partial to moonlight, music and walking on tiptoes. It turns out Biff doesn’t think he’s a dog, he thinks he’s a ballerina.

Based on the award-winning children’s book by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie, the feel-good show for the Easter holiday features music, songs, handcrafted puppets and Biff, the ballet-dancing dog.

The show will be performed on Wednesday, April 11, at 2pm.

Tickets cost £7.50 / £7 under 16s.

Teenagers aged 15-up can enjoy the Oscar nominated film Lady Bird, which shows on April 6 and Monday, April 9, at 7.30pm.

Saoirse Ronan stars as troubled teen Lady Bird who is making her way through her last year of high school.

Tickets and times for all performances can be found at www.southhollandcentre.co.uk, in person at the box office or at 01775 764777.
