Lions’ grand gesture for Mia

Spalding Lions has donated £1,000 to help improve the life of an 18-month-old from Cowbit.

The group recently put on a Gin and Prosseco evening for the Mia and Me Appeal at the Services Club in Spalding.

Mia Clucas has an abnormal brain and is one of only a few 100 in the world to have Coffin-Siris-Syndrome (CSS).

Her parents Andrew and Nikki are both directors at The Voice.

The Lions have made the £1,000 towards the appeal set up to help provide specialist equipment Mia may need as she gets older.

Elaine Mothers of Spalding Lions said: “Mia’s smile says it all really.

“We have really taken a shine to her and why wouldn’t you look to help her?”

Mia’s dad Andrew Clucas said: “We can’t thank the Lions enough for their amazing efforts, as well as everybody who attended to help raise money for Mia’s fund.

“We’re humbled by their kindness and the money raised will help go towards ensuring that Mia has the best possible equipment as she gets older, which will help improve her quality of life.”
