Council asks residents not to leave rubbish in the streets following collection cancellations

South Holland District Council has asked residents to keep rubbish on their premises and not leave it on the streets after having to cancel collections.

Today (Wednesday, February 28) and yesterday the authority has had to suspend refuse and recycling collections due to the adverse weather.

And it’s asking residents not to leave their rubbish in the streets.

The statement from the district council states: “Due to the worsening weather conditions, it has been necessary for us to suspend refuse and recycling collections.

“We would ask that everyone keeps their refuse on their premises until the next collection is due. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.”
