Appeal after man is left in critical condition following assault – UPDATED

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was left unconscious following an assault in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 25).

The condition of the man was described as “critical but stable” by Spalding Chief Inspector Gareth Boxall following the incident which took place outside Loaded nightclub on Westlode Street in Spalding at around 1am.

The man suffered head injuries in the incident which has believed to have taken place in the queue outside the venue.

Insp Boxall said: “He is believed to have been assaulted before 1am and we’re keen to speak to anyone in that area from around 12.45am.”

When asked about the potential for the incident being on CCTV Insp Boxall added: “We are investigating a number of lines of enquiry.”
