Rose and Crown B (1) are celebrating after winning the Holbeach and District Darts League’s Caley Cup last week.
The team of Colin Seaton, Barry Bell, Dan Vaughan and Ash Allen were 2-1 winners over Crown and Mitre B in the final at Tigers Social Club.
Allen and Vaughan also impressed individually, throwing scores of 160 and 140 respectively on the night.
The eventual winners got their evening up and running with a 2-1 triumph over club-mates Rose and Crown B (2) in the first of the quarter-finals.
They were joined in the last four by Long Sutton RBL A, who beat Tigers SC A 2-1, Five Bells A (2-1 winners over Rose and Crown A) and Crown and Mitre, after the eventual finalists beat Horse and Goom B (2) by a clear 2-0.
In the last four Rose and Crown B (1) saw off RBL A 2-0 to reach the final, with Crown and Mitre B knocking off Rose and Crown A 2-1 in a tight tussle.
It was a close final too, but Crown and Mitre’s Andrew Horspool, Craig Thomas, Martyn Thomas and Phill Newton had no answer for the champions and went down 2-1.
Horspool could at least console himself with having the night’s top checkout, which was an impressive 116.
