Saturday football: Tulips battle back to bag Wisbech replay, Tigers ease to FA Cup win and Knights slip up

Spalding United battled back to earn a 2-2 Emirates FA Cup draw at Wisbech Town on Saturday, while Holbeach United eased past divisional rivals ON Chenecks 6-1 in the same competition and Pinchbeck United suffered a 2-1 ChromaSport UCL Division One defeat at Buckingham Town.

Starting with the Tulips, a second-half strike from Cenk Acar earned them a replay at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Jack Fixter had earlier put Chris Rawlinson’s side 1-0 to the good at the Elgoods Stadium, but goals from ex-Spalding pair Adam Millson and Michael Frew gave the Fenmen at 2-1 half-time lead.

That’s how it stayed until Acar levelled the scores and ensured the pair will meet again to decide who bags a place in the next round and the near-£2,000 in FA prize money.

Holbeach had little trouble in progressing, as they beat ChromaSport UCL Premier Division rivals ON Chenecks for the second Saturday on the spin.

Mitch Griffiths (2) gave the Tigers the perfect start at Carter’s Park, then a quick double from Lewis Leckie (pen 39 and 43) made it 3-0 at half-time.

Spencer Tinkler smashed home number four (65), only for Calvin Budd to grab a consolation for the visitors five minutes from time via a deflected free-kick.

That only served to kick Holbeach back into gear and they notched two goals in as many minutes thanks to Jordan Keeble (86) and Will Bird (87).

Meanwhwile, Pinchbeck suffered their first defeat in UCL Division One despite Corey Kingston putting them a goal to the good on 19 minutes.

Buckingham levelled just before the break and then grabbed a second-half winner to leave Ian Dunn’s side second in the table behind Blackstones.

In the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division, both Moulton Harrox and Holbeach United Reserves hit six.

Strikes from Jake Mason (2), Marcus Parry (2), Louis Steadman and Joe Townsend helped Harrox crush Ketton 6-0 and keeps them top.

Meanwhile, Jonny Allen bagged a hat-trick to give Holbeach United Reserves a 6-1 success at Stanground Sports.

Josh Lawrence (2) and Scott Powley were the other scorers.

Also in the top tier, Sutton Bridge United went down 3-1 at Netherton United.
