Wednesday football: Four-some Pinchbeck batter Bourne, Holbeach held by Star

Pinchbeck United thumped Bourne Town 4-0 in ChromasSport UCL Division One on Wednesday night, while Holbeach United were held 2-2 by Peterborough Northern Star in the Premier Division.

Starting with Pinchbeck, goals for Corey Kingston (2), Ollie Maltby and Liam Ogden eased Ian Dunn’s side to their second win of the season.

The Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field success also sends the Knights to the top of the early table.

Meanwhile, Holbeach’s perfect start to the season was ended by Star at Carter’s Park – but Seb Hayes’ side remain unbeaten.

Mitch Griffiths and Lewis Leckie netted for the Tigers, with ex-Holbeach frontman Zak Munton among the PNS scorers.
