Pinchbeck United wrapped up second place in ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Sawtry.
Goals from Tyler Wright, Tom Brooks and player/boss Ian Dunn did the job for Pinchbeck at Knight Street.
But, while they clinched the runners-up spot, results elsewhere also meant that Peterborough Sports Reserves sealed the title.
Behind them, Moulton Harrox were held to a 2-2 draw at Wisbech Town Reserves as they missed the chance to take control of the race for third.
Joe Townsend and Jake Cawthorne grabbed the goals for Nigel Steadman’s charges.
Elsewhere in the top tier, Holbeach United Reserves picked up a solid 2-2 home draw against third-placed Netherton United.
Off the pitch, the big PDFL news was that Long Sutton Athletic sacked player/boss Matt Cawthorn on Saturday.
The news came as a shock to Cawthorn, who has turned down the chance to become assistant manager to the new boss – believed to be former Holbeach United legend Omar Joof.
More on that story to follow.
