Monday football round-up: Spalding United clinch third but Holbeach United smashed for seven

Spalding United wrapped up third place in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South with a 2-0 win at Lincoln United on Monday, while Holbeach United were humbled 7-2 at Wisbech Town in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division.

Starting with the Tulips, late goals from Brad Wells (82) and Conor Higginson (pen 85) gave Chris Rawlinson’s side an impressive win.

They will now host the fourth placed side at the Sir Halley in the play-off semi-finals next Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, it was a day to forget for Holbeach.

They were crushed by hosts Wisbech, who even had keeper Sam Vince (pen) on the scoresheet. Billy Smith also notched a treble for the Fenmen.

Josh Ford (pen) and Tommy Treacher, who was later sent off, got the goals for the Tigers.

More to follow.
