Crowson happy to see red-hot Harrox in title mix as they keep winning streak going

Five-star Moulton Harrox kept their winning streak in ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division going with a 5-0 win over AFC Stanground Sports on Saturday.

Dan Woods fired title-chasing Harrox into an early lead, before strike partner Marcus Parry doubled the advantage.

Hitman Woods was on target again to make it 3-0, setting the stage for Joe Townsend and Parry to round off the scoring.

The win, a sixth on the bounce, leaves Harrox very much in the title picture.

But assistant boss Paul Crowson admits that his side owed a debt of gratitude to keeper Lee Kenealy, who pulled off a number of fine saves.

“Stanground started well and put us under pressure early on,” admitted the number two. “They are a team of many good individuals, especially their striker Josh Staggs.

“But we are a very strong team and, once Dan Woods put us 1-0 up, there was only going to be one winner.

“I have to say, though, that Lee Kenealy was star man this week. I gave him some stick last week, but he took it well and responded with some fine saves.

“The win keeps us in the mix, especially as we have (leaders) Peterborough Sports still to play. All we can do is keep taking things one game at a time and see what happens.”

Harrox host fifth-placed Stamford Lions this Saturday (2pm).

Harrox: Kenealy, Groves, D Cairns, Coddington, Watkin, McGuire, King, Cawthorne, Woods, Townsend, Parry. Subs used: Allen, Farrell, Jamie Francis.
