PDFL round-up: Brilliant Sutton Bridge United bag magnificent seven to stay top

Red-hot Sutton Bridge United made it five wins from five ChromaSport PDFL Division One games with a thumping 7-2 victory over Baston on Saturday.

Jake Lally (3), Ben Partridge (2), Liam Burton and Kurt Scott all netted for Bridge to keep their flawless record going and move them two points clear at the top with a game in hand.

The victory comes after last Wednesday’s whopping 17-0 victory over Spalding United Reserves – in which Matt Eaton notched NINE times.

Elsewhwere in Division One, a hat-trick from Declan Earth fired Moulton Harrox Reserves to a 4-0 win at King’s Cliffe, with John Ball also on target.

The above-mentioned Spalding United Reserves were thrashed 7-0 at home by Glinton and Northborough. They already have a goal difference of -32 after just four games and sit bottom of the table.

Up in the Premier Division, a hat-trick from Crowland Town’s Connah Hunt couldn’t stop Holbeach United Reserves winning 5-4 at Snowden Field. Joe Millinson, Callum Davies (2) and Tom Gosling (2) got the goals for the Tigers, who came from 3-0 down.

In Division Two, Spalding Town kicked off their campaign with a fine 4-0 win over ICA Sports Reserves at the Castle. Ashley Wilson, Edgar Geglis, Matt Cannaon and Vladislavs Balans bagged for Town.

There was also a winning start for Tydd St Mary, who saw off Ketton Reserves 4-1 at Memorial Park.

James Woods (23), Paul Newcombe (41) and Tim Lowe (45 and 61) were all on target for the Saints.

Another South Holland side to get three points on day one were Crowland Town Reserves, who saw off hosts Netherton United A 2-0.

However, Pinchbeck United Reserves were thumped 4-0 at Whittlesey Athletic/Coates Athletic A.

In Division Four, Jake Baines hit a hat-trick as Whaplode Drove beat Netherton United B 7-2.

Luke Baines, Danny Firth, David Jenkins and George Smith also netted.

Mark Garner and Herickson Rocha scored as Long Sutton Reserves drew 2-2 at Huntingdon Rovers, while Holbeach Bank also picked up a 2-2 draw at home to Stanground B.

Meanwhile, Tydd St Mary Reserves suffered an 8-0 reverse at Premiair.
