A great year in store for JDRF gets off to a flying start

Sainsbury’s Spalding’s Local Charity of the Year got off to a tremendous start.

Launch weekend at the Holland Market store for 12 months of support for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) raised £1,318.

Velo One cycling club’s Dan Carr (whose eight-year-old son Oliver has Type 1 diabetes), Josh Wallis and Neil Palmer helped the cause by clocking up 146 miles over ten hours on a turbo bike.
Store manager Paul Bryan and his deputy John Hunter also did stints on the bike.

Gemma Robinson, of West Pinchbeck, is mum to Faith (7), who suffers from Type 1 diabetes, and fundraises for JDRF with Oliver’s mum Jenny.
Gemma said: “We just want to say thank you to all the management team and staff for being so supportive.”

Customers voted to support JDRF this year. The mums and the Spalding store thanked everybody for their ongoing generosity.
