Bladerunners have taken over at the top of Division One in Spalding and District Table Tennis League (sponsored by Vital Recruitment) as the season enters its last week.
One match was completed in Division One and two others had games played, while two more were finished in Division Two.
Title chasers Bladerunners faced JDM across two matches, finishing one 4-1 by taking the two remaining singles and the doubles.
In the other Christian Green came from behind to take a superb win (against ranking) and helped JDM to an unbeatable 3-1 lead despite also losing that doubles.
Blades are now two ahead with second-placed South Holland not registering any games. Nets and Edges also faced JDM in their unfinished match and pulled back a point to trail 1-2.
In Division Two, Young Guns and Hurricane Brothers played out their two matches, Jon and Josh Brown making up the numbers in the singles and doubles.
Guns’ Daniel Dorey took all four of his singles, two in earlier meetings, and Guns also won both doubles giving a 3-2 in one match.
Jon Brown added one more in the other match to seal a 4-1 win.
The points move Guns up to third place, while Hurricanes jump to fourth – but both teams have points to gain against MatDuf so that could change.
Meanwhile, the Roy Gibson final was set-up as Daniel Dorey (starting on 18) defeated Sam Wallis (21) 31-24, 31-24 to book a clash with Richard Matthews (17) – who had a walkover in the other semi.
Phil Chandler and Richard Hammond met in their second final, this time the Vets, with Chandler taking his second title 11-8, 11-2, 11-8.
