Run-down phone kiosk in Spalding might be adopted by council – for £1

This phone kiosk in Spalding might be adopted by South Holland District Council. For just £1, it could be considered a good call.

One suggested use for the run-down kiosk near The White Horse in Churchgate is as a quirky tourist information point.
Spalding Town Forum vice-chairman Coun Jack McLean is due to discuss the possible adoption and uses with fellow members tonight (Wednesday, June 8).

He said: “It’s effectively derelict but I believe the kiosk is of some historical significance – it’s part of our landscape.

“It could offer information about the history of The White Horse, Chain Bridge Forge and walks that are available. We’ll look at the possibilities but I must say I wouldn’t want to see it leading to leaflets strewn in the road and river.”

Council and charities are able to adopt disused BT phone kiosks for £1.
