Free blood pressure checks in Spalding town centre

Free blood pressure tests are being offered in Spalding next week.

South Holland Rotary Club is holding its annual Know Your Blood Pressure Day event at the South Holland Centre on Saturday, April 16, from 10am to 3pm.

Rotary member Peter Kite said: “This is obviously an important health check and problems that could be occuring can be picked up.
“Many people have their blood pressure checked regularly as a matter of course and that’s great. It’s the ones who don’t go regularly that we’re hoping to catch.

“Some of our members will be outside persuading the public of the value of a blood pressure check, others will be helping nearer the medical teams.
“In the past when we’ve held it, it’s been known for up to five people to be referred to their GP as a matter of urgency.”

Due to availability of healthcare professionals in Spalding, the event is being held a week earlier than the national Rotary event, run in conjunction with the Stroke Association.
