Get arty for Christmas at Doodles

A mobile pottery painting business is offering people the chance to attend a Christmas party with a difference.

In the run-up to Christmas Doodles, which also has a dedicated studio at Unique Cottage Studios, Fulney, is inviting groups of children or adults the chance to try their hand at decorating a unique gift for family or friends.

The business, which is run by Lucy Evenden and Anna Morris, with the part time help of Spalding High School A level student Emma, has gone from strength to strength since it started in April 2013, with people of all ages letting loose their creative sides.

The youngest customer so far has been a baby of just a few days old who decorated an item with a tiny footprint, while the eldest was 92. Lucy said: “Our parties are perfect for mums with babies and toddlers.

A group of friends can either come to us or we can come to them.

“We would help them capture their child’s hands and footprints and then either they can decorate the rest of the piece or they can leave that to us.

“It’s a lovely relaxed and fun way to create a unique gift for grandparents, family and friends.

“In the run up to Christmas we also have many ladies’ groups coming to us to spend an evening chatting and painting.

“We would definitely encourage people who don’t see themselves as artistic to come along and have a go.

“Anyone can create something special and we are always on hand with ideas and advice.”

Groups can also enjoy a light supper, provided on request by Unique Cottage Cafe – or of course Doodles will take the pottery painting experience to a groups’ usual venue. Visit www.doodlecrafts.co.uk or www.facebook.com/doodlecraftsceramics.
