Leila ready to lose her locks

A Spalding High School student is about to lose her locks for a second time to help children battling cancer.

Leila Kay Hawley, 11, is donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust charity which donates wigs to children losing their hair through treatment, or because of medical issues.
Leila, of Holbeach, already donated her hair three years ago, aged eight, when she also raised more than £800 for the charity in memory of her grandmother Wanda Kay who lived in America.
Leila will be losing her hair at Weston Village Hall on Friday, October 30 during a special Hair-Raising Halloween event.
There will be games, prizes, a disco, refreshments and a costume contest as part of the fundraiser which is £5 a child. She hopes to raise enough money for two wigs – £1,600 and will be donating her 14-inches of hair to the cause.
“Leila has been growing her hair for three years now and is ready to cut and donate again,” said her mum Nikki.
There is also a JustGiving page ‘Leila’s Lovely Locks for Little Princess Trust’ where donations can be made.
