Tigers co-manager heads abroad on a high

Co-manager Callum Lawe marked his last game in charge of Holbeach United with a 2-0 win over Diss Town at Carters Park in Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League.

He is leaving the Tigers to take up a new coaching opportunity and said: “I am pursuing an exciting new adventure in Abu Dhabi, which brings some fantastic opportunities but also new responsibilities and commitments.
“Unfortunately this means I can no longer give this football club, the players and the people involved the time and commitment they deserve.
“It has been a real privilege and an honour to lead Holbeach United and I will always look back on my time here with enormous gratitude.”
A superb all-round performance from the Tigers saw them claim all three points with a deserved victory.
Two excellent goals from Pat Kacirek and Alieu Jabang capped an impressive display, with Holbeach enjoying the upper hand for large periods and creating enough chances to have added further goals.
Jabang’s deep cross saw Kacirek’s looping header open the scoring with Alpha Wurie setting up Jabang for the second after a surging run
At the other end, Sam Cornbill delivered a commanding man of the match performance at the heart of the defence, leading by example as the Tigers secured a well-earned clean sheet and moved to within three points of the play-off places.
Tigers: Sellars, Wilkshire, Wurie, Cornbill, Barsby, Oldham, Chouchane, Williams, Kacirek, West, Jabang.
Subs: Taylor, Bodibe, Coelho, Hyde, Ahamed.
☐ Holbeach u23s are through to the next round of the National Youth League Cup after Marley Barrett got a hat-trick in an 8-0 rout of King’s Lynn Town.
