A Spalding man has denied an offence of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after arming himself with a rounders style bat.
John Goble, 38, entered a not guilty plea to the charge when he appeared before Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight at Lincoln Crown Court.
It is alleged Goble, of Beckingham Close, Spalding, caused grievous bodily harm to Daniel Horgan on February 16, 2026.
Defence barrister Chris Jeyes asked for the case to be adjourned for trial.
Judge Sjolin Knight fixed the case for a trial beginning at Lincoln Crown Court in the week beginning March 8, 2027.
The trial is expected to last three to four days.
A pre-trial hearing will also take place at Lincoln Crown Court on March 1 next year.
Judge Sjolin-Knight told Goble: “I have set a timetable which will take us to trial, you having indicated a not guilty plea.”
Goble was granted unconditional bail until his next court appearance.
