Celebrating rural life was at the heart of an event held in Moulton over the weekend.
Members of the village’s Celebration Committee spent much of the year working on the annual Harvest Weekend and crowds turned out to enjoy the free event.
With everything from tractor trailer rides to a scarecrow competition and livestock, there was something for everyone.
Crowds turned out, even after Sunday started very wet, and committee member Steven Adcock said the organisers had been delighted with the amount of people.
“They weren’t put off – we were looking at the amount of cars parked and there were plenty. It was a good weekend,” he said.
Alongside displays of modern farming machinery, more traditional tractors hitched-up ploughs for a contest on Sunday.
“We are just grateful to everybody who supported us in our efforts. There are five of us on the committee but we couldn’t do it without all the support.
“There must have been around £1.5m of kit on the field and we just want to put on a free event with anything left over going back to the village,” said Mr Adcock.
Members of the committee are due to meet in the next few days for a debrief and to work out how much may have been raised.
“I keep saying I won’t do another one, and somehow we seem to always do it!”
