A local company has stepped into to help a food bank which says it is not getting the support it used to from supermarkets.
DGM Growers is looking to provide regular vegetables to the Holbeach Community Larder.
And to mark the start of the new partnership, staff recently held a collection for supplies.
Liz Walker, treasurer of the larder, an independent charity, said: “Any donation like this is a big help in the short term.
“Demand for our service continues to grow but the donations we receive from supermarkets have reduced significantly and we now have to buy much of what goes in our parcels.
“It seems some of the supermarkets would prefer to use schemes like “Good to Go” rather than donating to the foodbank.
“A huge thank you goes to everyone at DGM Growers.
“They are still offering us fresh veg and are also planning to do another collection for us around Halloween.”
