Lincoln A make cup progress with clean sheet

A break from Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer League action saw the second round of the Knockout Cup take place.

Lincoln Arms A booked their place in the next round with a dominant 5-0 home win against Drayman’s Arms Q, winning every game without dropping a leg.

Pinchbeck FC A also progressed by securing a 6-3 victory at Consti Club A. Wins for Tracey Baldwin, who produced a 109 checkout, and Anthony Norman, who hit a 180, helped set up the result, while Josh Burton added another 180 in his final singles win for the football club.

Pinchbeck FC advanced with a 6-3 home win over Green Dragon Z. Liam Dawson and Nigel Foster recorded a 17-dart leg in the first pairs game, with Foster also hitting a 180. The Dragon responded through Harry Tucker and Callum Day, who won the final two singles. Tucker produced a 110 checkout, while Day impressed with a 152 finish and a 15-dart leg in a game that included seven scores of 100 or more.

Royal Mail Cart eased past Kirton Leisure with a convincing 9-0 away win. Finn Andrew hit two 180s for Leisure, while Chris Fidler added a 180 and Jack Chilvers produced a 17-dart leg for Mail Cart. Consti Club B progressed with a 6-3 home win over Drayman’s Arms B. Trailing 2-1 after the pairs, the match swung with wins from Adam Robinson, Scott Lawrence, Stu Ewins and Pat Looney before Matt Broderick sealed a comfortable victory in the final singles. Robinson and Lawrence also produced a 17-dart leg in their pairs success.

The closest game of the round saw Services Club B edge out Consti Club D with a narrow 5-4 home win. After trailing 2-1 from the pairs, Tony Clark levelled the match by winning the first singles. Brandon Deans and Riley Collins then claimed the next two games for Consti to put them on the brink of victory. Missed doubles proved costly for the Consti as Steve Rawding and Jonny Pell both won their singles 2-1 for Services to take the tie to a last-match decider. Ady Smith proved too strong in the final singles, defeating Danny Drage 2-0 to secure the win for Services. Clark hit a 180 in the pairs.

Tigers Club moved through to the next round after receiving a walkover against Green Dragon C.

The final tie in the Ward Trophy first round was completed with Lincoln Arms D producing an impressive 9-0 home win over Services Club A. Luke Rhodes contributed a 120 checkout.
