The first round of the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer League’s Ward Trophy produced only three completed matches.
Two teams received byes and three ties were postponed.
Consti Club D progressed with an emphatic 8-1 victory at Drayman’s Arms A. The only home success came in the final game, when Kieran Twitchen beat Dean Drage 2-0.
Lincoln Arms C also moved into the next round after a tight encounter at Pinchbeck FC C. Trailing 3-1, wins for Steve Doades, Alex Ward and Duane Harrison turned the match around to give the Lincoln a 4-3 lead. Graham Amess levelled the tie at 4-4 before a tense final singles match saw Kelly Amess and Jay Fountain go the distance,
Fountain held his nerve to hit the winning double for a 5-4 Lincoln victory.
Pinchbeck FC A booked their place in the next round with a 6-3 home win over the Green Dragon C. Wins in the final two singles for Tracey Baldwin and Emma Tickner sealed the result.
Several catch-up fixtures were played in Division A. Lincoln Arms A moved seven points clear at the top after a commanding 21-6 home win over Pinchbeck FC B. The only success for the visitors came in the pairs, where Tom Elderkin and John Gilman beat Steve Gaughan and John Charlton 2-1.
Second-placed Royal Mail Cart edged out Consti Club C 14-13 away, a 2-1 win for Jack Chilvers over Paul Faulkner in the final singles securing the victory. There were 180s for Jacob Herd, Jordan Philpott and Paul Faulkner for the Consti side, while Ted Howling hit a 111 checkout and Jimmy Robinson recorded a 17-dart leg.
For Mail Cart, Josh Ford produced a 107 finish and an 18-dart leg.
Tigers Club also claimed a narrow 14-13 win at Kirton Leisure. William Cliff won the final singles 2-1 against Finn Andrews, hitting a 180 in the process, while Brett Butter-Brewster also struck a 180 for the Tigers.
