Family rev up for bike ride

A Moulton father and his sons are gearing up to ride the length of the UK in memory of another family member.

Nigel, Henry and Harry Mynott, who run Moulton Pet Stores, are to travel from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’Groats on motorbikes in memory of Nigel’s sister Samantha Mynott.

Without using any motorways, they’re looking to complete the punishing 1,000 miles within 24 hours.

They’re raising funds for Ovacome, a national ovarian cancer charity.

Samantha died aged 51 in May last year and her family only found out she had ovarian cancer after her death.

“We wanted to do something to raise money for the charity and motorbikes are what we most have in common,” said Harry.

“It felt like an enjoyable but challenging thing to attempt for some stupid reason.

“It is going to be a challenge but we’re really looking forward to doing it together.

“We’ve always been quite a close family.

“Samantha was such a caring woman who worked as a live-in nanny so although she never had children of her own, there were a number who would call her another mum.

“She was always a person who would help out if you needed it.

“She missed both mine and Henry’s weddings because of her illness which was tough as she would never have missed anything like that.”
