I just wonder whether any of your readers have experienced the difficulties in parking at the Johnson Hospital when attending appointments?
I had occasion to visit the hospital for an appointment at 11am on Tuesday, June 2 and allowing plenty of time to drive there considering the torrential rain and the many road closures on my journey, I arrived in the car park area 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find a parking bay. To say that the car park resembled an orderly situation to be in is a gross understatement.
It was chaotic with every car space taken and cars parked on roads into and exiting the hospital. There were cars parked on grass verges and traffic islands.
I was unable to stop and eventually found myself in a neighbouring housing development a quarter of a mile away where it appeared to be the only place I could park.
On my walk to the entrance of the hospital, I saw two cars enter the parking area, go round twice looking for a space and then departing. Perhaps two appointments unfortunately missed unavoidably.
I didn’t see one car departing the parking area during my walk there and back.
Someone mentioned during my visit that there are a lot of cars which are parked there but have no involvement with the hospital.
So what is the solution? Perhaps it might occur to certain administrators that a car park charge should now be introduced, not the most popular decision for many people.
