Spalding climbed out of the bottom two of the early Lincolnshire Premier League Premier Division table thanks to a five-wicket win at Grimsby Town.
After two defeats, Spalding bounced back to condemn the hosts to their first defeat of the campaign.
Spalding won the toss and captain Ollie Dring put the hosts into bat and that decision reaped a rich reward.
Nilantha Atapattu trapped Quadrat Qadiri to reduce the hosts to 15/1 and fellow opener Toby Blake was caught by Walter Kinlock off the captain’s bowling with no further addition to the score.
Atapattu weaved his magic to get another lbw and things looked grim for the hosts at 25/3.
They limped on to 47/3 but then lost four more wickets with only eight runs added to the scoreboard as Kinlock picked up the ball to wreak havoc.
He finished his seven overs with six victims and only 19 runs conceded, including three maidens.
The only Grimsby batsman to offer any resistance was Joe Cook but his 53-ball knock was ended on 37 when Ethan Lawrence had him stumped off Joshua White.
It left the hosts heading for tea with only 92 runs to their name.
Grimsby battled back to reduce their visitors to 41/4 in reply, with Josh Lawrence doing his best to stem the tide with 14.
The arrival of Lawrence (15) and Mustafa Mughal (19no) at the crease steadied things and they doubled the score before being parted on 84 after a 43-run partnership.
That left another nine runs to be knocked off to chalk up the much-needed victory, accomplished in the 21st over five wickets down.
Travis Harrison and Curtis Todd both claimed four-wicket hauls as Moulton Harrox climbed up to third place in Championship South after a slow start to the season, with a second win on the spin.
Matt Rose won the toss and put Grantham Seconds into bat and gained instant reward when Harrison took two wickets with only 15 runs on the board.
A sticky 62-run second-wicket stand slowed progress but once that was broken, Harrison (4-30) and Todd (4-46) tore through the rest of the batting, with Jacob Gray (2-16) chipping in to leave the visitors all out for 135.
The reply saw runs scored all the way through the order after the early loss of Gray for eight and Josh Newton for 14.
Ruari Drumm top-scored with an unbeaten 28, sharing a 40-run stand with Charlie Poulter (23) for the fourth wicket after opener Anish Suwarneraj had struck 22.
Captain Rose (14no) then joined Drumm to reach a winning 136/4 in the 36th over.
A hat-trick of South Holland victories was secured by Long Sutton in Division One South with a comprehensive nine-wicket success at home to Woodhall Spa.
It was Sutton’s first win of the campaign and came inside 16 overs after Aron John had lost the toss.
Woodhall Spa made a woeful start as Sutton steamed into the attack and lost the first half of their line-up with only 28 runs scored.
A mini-revival saw them double their score from 39/7 but they added only 14 more runs as they collapsed to 92 all out.
Rob Simpson was the destroyer-in-chief, bowling five maidens and taking 4-9 from his nine overs.
Dan Plant was equally economical with his bowling, taking 3-7 and conceding runs in only two of his six overs.
After the early loss of captain John, Sutton rattled off what they needed in quick-time with opener Rajan Sangha not out on 30 and Jack Baker hitting a 35-ball unbeaten 46.
