The members of the Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding have strung together £2,700 to donate to local good causes.
It’s the most successful year of fundraising ever from the group set up in 2008 to provide great gun and great music.
Three £900 cheques were presented to Spalding and Holbeach Macmillan Cancer Support group, The Gateway Club and Little Miracles of Holbeach at the club’s annual charity presentation evening last Thursday (March 5).
The chairman of the Ukulele Orchestra, Dee Inman-Fong, said: “This is one of the highlights of our year because it’s our chance to say a big thank you and to help those who do so much for others in our community.”
In the next financial year the charity says it is looking to fundraise for Citizens Advice Lincolnshire, Boxes of Hope and Thistles Market Garden, which offers work experience and training for young adults with particular needs.
Anyone is welcome to join with rehearsals at Broad Street Methodist Church in Spalding from 7.30pm on Thursdays.
