Spalding High School named one of the top schools in region

Spalding High School has been ranked the sixth best secondary school in the East Midlands by a national newspaper.

The Sunday Times’ list of top schools ranks every school in the country.

Its 33rd edition, sees Spalding High School 235th out of over 2,000 secondary schools and sixth regionally.

The King’s School in Grantham was named the top school in the East Midlands.

Spalding High School head Mrs Michele Anderson, said: “Spalding High School is so proud to have been ranked the East Midlands sixth highest performing school in The Times Parent Power Survey this year.

“This is an incredible achievement for the school and amazing news which gives us all some sparkle and shine to lift the spirits as we head into the festive season.

“We are also pleased to have been placed 235 nationally out of 3,456 secondary schools in England, a move up of 49 places from last year.

“Our Year 11 and Year 13 students who worked tremendously hard on their GCSE and A Level studies over the last two years have secured these amazing results.

“The results are a testament to their hard work and commitment alongside the support of their parents and
carers and the dedication of our experienced staff.

“With this impressive display of resilience and determination, students have achieved remarkable success across a wide range of subjects.

“This is a wonderful school and I am so pleased and proud of the students, the staff and everyone involved in the wider school community, including the tremendous support from our parents and governors. Bravo, congratulations and thank you to everyone!”

Helen Davies, editor of The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide, said: “The educational landscape is testing – budget challenges, rising student mental health issues, special educational needs and an increasingly uncertain future.

“But there is also so much to celebrate from the dedication of teachers who are finding ever more innovative and impactful ways to enrich their students and give them the very best start in life.

“As well as celebrating the academic excellence of the top schools it is uplifting to see how they are shaping their students to be ready for the 21st century, and instilling a lifelong love of learning.”
