Meaty donation for James

A marathon cycling and running effort received a boost when it stopped at a Pinchbeck abattoir.

Woodhead Brothers Morrisons gave a warm welcome to its parent company’s group strategy and transformation director James Badger.

He was cycling 500km from North Yorkshire to London to run the marathon there, all raising money for Blood Cancer UK.

James’ wife Philippa died from acute myeloid leukaemia and he’s raised over £300,000 for the charity.

On his latest ride he popped into Woodhead Brothers’ site on Brunel Road.

Staff there had held a raffle for James, raising £548.48 for this total.

He collected the cheque after staff laid on a breakfast for him.

Community champion Tina Ellis said: “It was our great privilege to be part of James’s journey and to raise an amazing amount of money on site to support the end goal for such an amazing cause.”
