The chairman of South Holland District Council is putting his next steps in as he looks to add to the £14,000 he has raised for charity.
Coun Andrew Woolf has been raising money for the Spalding branch of Mencap and Blood Cancer UK throughout his two year term in the role.
That finishes in April, and he’s marking it by running the London Landmarks half marathon.
He’ll be joined by another Coun Ingrid Sheard and friend Mark Schmidt in running 13.1 miles on April 6 running solely for Blood Cancer UK.
“Training’s been going well so far as we look to be in the best condition we can be,” Coun Woolf said. “I don’t particularly like running, but I have done the race before in 2019.
“I just wanted to do one last thing for the charity as I want to raise as much money as possible.”

There are also other fundraising events the community get involved with.
The Chairman’s Charity Quiz Night is taking place at 7pm on Saturday, February 8 at Cowbit Village Hall.
Entry is £5 per person and includes a free raffle ticket with teams of up to six welcome.
That event proved to be a success last year, as did the Chairman’s Bake Off, which is also returning.
It’s hoped Great British Bake Off winner Matty Edgell will be on hand to again help Coun Woolf judge the winner on Saturday, March 29 at the South Holland Centre.
Anyone wishing to enter should arrive for 10am with the judging to start at 11am.
Anyone can enter and participants are requested to let cakes be sold afterwards, so all profits can go to the charities.
“I’m quite chuffed with how the fundraising has gone so far,” said Coun Woolf. “I can’t thank everyone enough, be it those that have just supported the events or helped to put them on.
“The Spalding Round Table, Spalding Lions, Halmer Harriers, a host of village halls, SHDC’s communities team and Spalding Flower Parade are among many that have done a brilliant job.”
