Faces of movie down at Uptown

A Weston record shop was set to hit the TV screens this week as two stars of a cult movie scooted in.

Phil Daniels and Leslie Ash, who starred together in Quadrophenia, popped into Uptown Vinyl at Baytree Garden Centre while filming an episode of Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip.
It was due to be broadcast as The Voice went to press on Wednesday.
Graham Hawkes at Uptown, even taught Ms Ash the chords to Blur’s hit Parklife on which former EastEnders star Daniels provided some vocals.
Alan Barnsdale, who owns the Baytree Garden Centre-based business said it was filmed in June but they’d had to keep quiet about it until now.
“The TV people contacted us as they’d heard about the exhibition we had on display for Spalding BBQ ‘67,” he said. “We filmed their visit while we were open and some lucky customers had the chance to talk with them.
“Quadrophenia was a great cult film and people still visit Brighton where it was filmed.
“I got my Quadrophenia album cover signed plus a few other bits.
“I’m looking forward to seeing it the episode on.”
It was set to be broadcast at 7pm last night on BBC Two.
