Scam warning over fake dentist

A scam warning has been issued over a fake dentist claiming to exist in Lincoln pretending to offer NHS dental places.

Lincolnshire’s Trading Standards has issued a scam alert over the incident whose website asks people to input personal information including NHS and passport numbers.
“We have been unable to identify any business connected to the address given on the website and Facebook page that are currently or are planning to offer these services from this location,” a spokesman for Trading Standards said. “If you have provided a passport number, you may need to cancel and reapply for your passport. If you have provided your NHS number, please be assured that your records can only be accessed by someone with access to NHS data.
“If you have any concerns, you can contact the NHS fraud line on 0800 028 4060.
“If you think you have interacted with any scam messages and provided scammers with your financial details you should contact your bank or credit card provider immediately on a number you know to be correct, such as the one on the back of your card.
“You can report adverts on social media you believe are a scam by selecting the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the posting and pressing ‘report’. You can also report suspicious social media posts or websites which you suspect are scams to ActionFraud on 03001232040 or Trading Standards on 08082231133.”
