Warm welcome for dads

Three Dads Walking the country to raise awareness of mental health charity Papyrus after their three daughters took their own life were given a warm welcome to Sutton Bridge.

The 25-day long Walk of Hope 2024 was taken on by Andy Airey, Mike Palmer and Tim Owen whose daughters Sophie, Beth and Emily all took their own lives. They left Stirling, Scotland and completed their journey in Norwich recently.
The were welcomed to The Curlew Centre at the end of a leg of their walk.
There they gave a talk about their work in spreading the word about the charity.
Frank Heinrich-Teller, a member of Long Sutton Men’s Shed and the Sutton Bridge U3A, both involved in the event, said: “It was a good event with myself giving a short scene setting presentation and the ‘Three Dads’ giving a very interesting talk on their raising awareness and fund raising efforts for the Papyrus Hope Line 247 suicide prevention for young people.”
