Wilson wins on sand

After winning the DTRA Flat Track Intermediate championship in 2023, Kirton youngster Ollie Wilson spent the winter contesting the nine-round Junior Sand Racing championship at Mablethorpe.

After winning eight out of the nine rounds he was crowned champion.
Riding his KTM 85cc machine, the 12 year old second year pupil at the Banovallum School in Horncastle was runner-up last season and was keen to go one better.
He did that in style by winning all but one race when his bike suffered a technical problem and he was forced to retire.
Not content to sit back and watch the rest of the meeting, he borrowed a fellow competitor’s bike and won the last three races to pick up a few extra points.
